Treatment of imperfections in precast structural elements

At its meeting in Athens in 2003, FIB Commission 6, “Prefabrication”, created Working Group 6.8 on “Treatment of imperfections in precast structural elements” to draft a paper on the state of the art of treatment of flawed concrete members. Imperfections in precast structural elements are inevitable and everyone involved in the process should know how to proceed when they occur. Many such flaws can be regarded to be deviations in quality, while others are not ordinarily included in the acceptance criteria established by customers or the existing legislation.
