For many companies in the concrete and precast industries, bauma 2010 has marked a turnaround and brought about a long hoped for change in sentiment, despite the ban on flights that affected the first few days of the trade show. Although no flights at all could land at Munich on Monday, the flight ban was relaxed from Tuesday onwards so that progressively more visitors from abroad could reach the event. For the most part, the quality of the visitors was unequivocally high right from the trade show’s outset. Any persons who, due to the ban, had endured a trip of many hours across the breadth of Europe in often adventurous conditions had good reasons for wanting to be there from the beginning. And so it was that bauma 2010 could also witness contracts being unexpectedly concluded that had not already been reckoned with in the run-up.
