The practice-oriented development of concretes with fly ash content above the limit dosages stipulated by German legislation is put forward in the following work. Light will be shed on the current state of technology and the utilisation of high volume fly ash concretes in practice. In-house investigations have examined concretes where 50 and 60% of Portland cement was substituted by fly ash. By employing high performance superplasticisers, serviceable concretes have been designed up to an F6 consistency class, which were also able to fulfil stipulations as regards durability.
