Bayferrox® iron oxides from Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany have been making the world a more colourful place for 85 years. Their pigment quali - ties are trusted by customers from the most varying of industries. Since production commenced in 1926, a total of more than 12 million tonnes of high quality colour pigments have left the Lanxess facilities on the Lower Rhine. This amount would fill a freight train about 4,200 kilometres long. With global capacities of more than 350,000 tonnes per year, Lanxess is ranked internationally amongst the major producers of these pigments. “We have been able to notch up above average expansion in our business these last years in comparison with our competitors. This is due to highly efficient and, in some cases, unique production processes, excellent quality, product innovations and our focus on environmental protection. We shall continue to push ahead with investment at all our sites with a view to accompanying our customers’ growth on a sustain - able basis,” explains Jörg Hellwig, manager of the Business Unit Inorganic Pigments, on the occasion of this year’s production anniversary.
