Three earlier articles in Concrete Plant International have described parts of the problem of determining the optimum composition of concretes, and their solutions using nonlinear models. For self-compacting concrete, the same approach used in the previous article can be applied. Rheology, however, is the key to good self-compacting concrete. This article, therefore, focuses primarily on obtaining desired flow properties of self-compacting concrete.
