Winter concrete production can be very difficult with gates and bins freezing up or becoming plugged with frozen material. To solve this “cold weather” problem, Metro Ready Mix of Salt Lake City has teamed up with Sioux Corp using a Sioux Steam Flo to inject steam into their bins. The battle of dealing with frozen material can be a nightmare for any ready-mix plant manager. Bins and hoppers bridging up can delay schedules resulting in loss production. Customers may become irate when trucks are late, causing them to look to alternates sources for their winter time concrete needs.
