Designed to suit the interests of the South African concrete and precast industries, ICCX Sun City, held from 19.02 – 21.02.08 at Sun City resort 2 hours drive north of Johannesburg, attracted close to 600 visitors. With 80 exhibiting companies the event featured the largest exhibition on concrete manufacturing technology that ever took place in Sub-Saharan Africa. Preceding the ICCX, a technical course on the design of precast concrete frame structures was held, attended by about 100 local engineers and architects. The visits to the precast plants and construction sites of the Gautrain, currently Africa’s largest construction project, rounded of the programme.
