Flexibly usable punching shear reinforcementfor BubbleDeck flat slabs

The BubbleDeck Flooring System is a voided flat slab system in which so-called ‘bubbles’ (plastic balls) create voids in the concrete floor slab. This leads to a saving in weight without significantly weakening the load bearing behaviour of the floor. The lower weight results in smaller internal forces in the compo-nent. Conversely, larger spans can be achieved with the maximum internal force variable. However, this leads at the same time to high shear forces on the support that can only be transmitted with a punching shear reinforcement.
