Russia has a housing space of 5.0 billion m2, with a population of 146,000,000. That means that there is already a housing deficit of 1.5 billion m2. Current activity results in approximately 40.0 million m2 of housing space being built in Russia every year, 30% in the Moscow and St. Petersburg regions. Even in the old days, these regions had a very well developed construction industry.
