The development of production plants for manufacture of semi-finished concrete products as they are known today began around 30 years ago when the first single-track circulating plant were built next to the traditional tracks. The machines used in these, some of which were also used on the tracks, were improved over time. This meant that the cycle times could be reduced. In the mid- 80s, Wolfgang Reymann developed a pallets circulating plant for pre-cast sectional ceilings, in which automatic machines use CAD data directly. The first CAD/CAM controlled plants were built. This enabled the circulating plant to outstrip the track type in popularity. Efficiency was raised and manufacturing costs reduced.
