In February this year Schwenk Zement KG launched a new kind of fast cement with the brand name Fastcrete® plus onto the market. Fastcrete plus is a standard cement according to DIN EN 197 which was specially developed for the requirements of the precast concrete industry and is suitable for all applications including prestressed concrete. Fastcrete plus accelerates the concrete hardening process to such an extent that with normal precast mixtures the concrete construction elements are ready to be demoulded after 5-6 hours at an ambient temperature of 20°C. This provides the manufacturer of prefabricated elements with a series of options for streamlining his production process.
