Following the success of the first ICI-Asian conference (ACECON) in Bangalore in 2000, ACECON- 2005 was held in during September 22-25 in Mumbai, India. The events, which were this time hosted by the Indian Concrete Institute ICI, Maharashtra (Mumbai) centre, are scheduled to take place every 5 years and have emerged to be a major communication platform of the Asian concrete industry. ACECON-2005 was attended by close to 300 delegates, mainly from India and neighbouring Asian countries. The main theme of the conference was “Ecstasy in Concrete”.
