When Matt Morey, President of the Calstone Company based in Sunnyvale, California, USA was considering the specification for the proposed new concrete products plant to be built on their new strategically located site in Tracy, east of San Francisco, his number one requirement was the capability to produce a high quality “natural” looking product. Based on comparisons with a variety of quarried stone and preliminary testing at their first Rekers paver plant in San Martin, south of San Jose, they established that this meant a range of “traditional” sizes/shapes, a textured surface improved by “antiquing” and facemix multi-colour blends.
