Steel-reinforced concrete pipes according to DIN EN 1916 / DIN V 1201 with the Züblin kite profile design and nominal width 1,400 mm were chosen to reduce the deposits in two forcemains at Ettlingen in Germany. These were made monolithically using a vibration method and have a rebated socket and slip-ring seal according DIN EN 681-1 / DIN 4060. The entire gully area of the pipe, which satisfies the quality guidelines of the Trade Association for Concrete and Steel- Reinforced Concrete Pipes (FBS), is treated with a so-called triple "silicification system" using the preparation Neo-Ruthin.
