Testing self-compacting concretes is mostly carried on by means of mechanical procedures, which do not supply objective data. Rheometer tests, on the other hand, are relatively elaborate and involved. A compromise can be found by equipping the spread table normally utilised in slump testing with sensors. This enables flow curves to be ascertained in relation to time and be correlated with plastic viscosity.
