There is great potential in textile concrete. The most significant advantages of textile-reinforced concrete are its significantly lower weight and the possibility of producing much thinner components. Textile concrete reinforced with grid structures of AR glass or carbon is a new and innovative composite material. The big advantage is its corrosion resistance while maintaining high strength, which means that it can be positioned close to the surface and enables the production of very thin and lightweight precast.. One developer of this innovative textile reinforcement is V. Fraas Solutions in Textile GmbH with the brand SITgrid®. SITgrid can be spaced with a gap ranging from 5 mm up to a maximum of 20 mm and as a 3D textile is connected by compression-resistant pile threads.
