Almost without exception, the production of ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concretes (hereafter referred to as UHPFRC) in the past has been carried on at a laboratory scale in Germany. According to DIN EN 206 / DIN 1045-2, the manufacture of concretes is only permitted up to a maximum C100/115 strength class. Ultra-high performance concretes can nevertheless attain compressive strengths of 120 MPa up to 250 MPa. If these concretes are utilised in areas under the supervision of building authorities, then they must have “a general building authority approval” from the DIBt or “approval on an individual basis” from a federal state building authority.
