Mineral foam for applications in the precast industry

Alternative to conventional insulating materials


As a non-combustible insulating material, mineral foam represents an interesting alternative to mineral fibre insulating materials due to the ease of its disposal following the utilisation phase. The lowering of the dry bulk density to values below 100 kg/m3 is necessary in order to achieve comparable thermal conductivities. In the mineral foam mixing machine from Gertec, the volumetric flow rates of water, air and bind- ing agent suspension are measured and adjusted in real-time according to the specifications. Mineral foams of very high stability can be continuously manufactured in a density range of between 80 and 800 kg/m3 and placed inside the structural elements via a conveying hose.
