The use of the building system in precast concrete offers significant competitive advantages associated with the runtime and quality of the product. The precast concrete hollow core slab deserves to be highlighted, among the advantages, the ability to achieve large spans with- out bracing, low self weight and high capacity for series production. The production of hollow core slabs in the precast industry requires care for the production process, since the control of the concrete mix used to adjust the production equipment. Additionally, studies are key parameters relating to technological control of concrete, as well as employment tests to evaluate the evidence of the strength and determi- nation of physical parameters. In this context, this paper discusses the key aspects associated with the production and characterization of hollow core slabs in precast concrete in Brazil.
