Through efficient planning and production processes as well as compliance with high quality standards, the precast concrete construction method offers ideal possibilities to use innovative materials and construction methods. Frames have long been among the familiar and most efficient types of construction in the building industry. However, they are currently used only rarely in concrete construction; their application is mostly reserved for steel and timber construction. Nevertheless, steel reinforced concrete frames offer decisive advantages. On the one hand, a high, material-specific utilisation of materials can be achieved through the division into tension and compression struts, while on the other hand innovative connections in the gussets enable force flow-optimised and implementation-friendly structures. As the basis for the latest developments in the field of concrete technology as well as reinforcement and joining technology, it would appear to be worthwhile in future to use the potential of steel reinforced concrete frames with regard to material, weight and resource-saving constructions.
