Sands containing clay become interesting raw material for concrete production

With MasterSuna SBS, the new concrete admixture in the Master Builders Solutions range of BASF, it is now possible to produce everyday concrete with sands containing swelling clays and fines. Local sand deposits and low-cost crushed sands can now be used in accordance with EN 12620 and respective regulations. The result is a significant cost saving for the concrete producer: The transport of more suitable sand from other locations is no longer necessary. Costly washing or other pre-treatment of local sand can be reduced.
