Great uncertainty has prevailed throughout the German construction industry since the discontinuation of marks of conformity in conjunction with a CE marking. This report gives Kiwa GmbH’s estimation of the situation from the point of view of a certification, inspection and testing body (CIT body) and points to various approaches for resolving the matter of how the exacting demands, which the market places on construction product quality and safety, can continue to be fulfilled. The article will provide information on how CIT bodies are adjusting to the changes in construction law and what has to be observed in future.
