Continuing Growth of the Bolivian Cement and Concrete Industries

An outlook on the Bolivian construction industry

Due to an economic growth rate amounting to 4.5% in 2016 and backed by financial resources from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the increase in the Bolivian construction sector will reach 7.5% by the end of this year. This is what is mirrored in the latest report of the Bolivian Chamber of Construction for 2017. This figure could be achieved thanks to a continuous positive development especially in the east of the country, a finding that is also reflected in the data of the Chamber of Construction of Santa Cruz (Cadecocruz), which affirms that there are currently building activities taking place that amount to 3.4 million square meters in this backbone of the country (La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra). This development demonstrates that construction activities continue to contribute a significant share to the country's economic development.
