3D Printhuset started investigating the 3D construction printing technology four years ago, fueled by interesting articles in the 3D print press about remarkable performance of 3D construction printers mainly in Asia. In 2015 a 3-year grant from the Danish government was obtained among other together with the largest Danish construction company, NCC, to investigate the matter in more detail, in form of a global study of the “state of the art of 3D construction printing”. The aim of the study was to bring home all the findings to the Danish construction sector, such that this could be ready for the new technology.
