Since 1980’s Building Information Modeling (BIM), has been used for design of Precast components and Buildings. It has been already for a long also common to integrate the BIM to production automation systems. Anyhow there is still a lot unused potential in Building Information Models and one great opportunity to use this unused potential is Digital Twin. Digital Twin is a concept having a real-time digital representation of a physical object. For this kind of real-time representation, the combination of BIM and IoT monitoring offers new perspectives.
