Technology of Color Retention in Mass-Colored Concrete Outdoors Paving

The following article describes the results of a long-term research and development conducted by Sistrom Company from Russia in the field of durability and color retention of mass-colored concrete pavement elements. The established technological solution makes it possible to solve the problem of efflorescence that is usually the main reason for loss of the original color of concrete subjected to the outdoors environment. The solution is based on production of a concrete-polymer layer on surface of a UHPC that provides an outstanding water retention and durability even on heavily used horizontal surfaces (Fig. 1). Sistrom Company is conducting research, development and transfer of technologies in the field of concrete industry since 1991, and today is supplying original Sistrom technologies and equipment to 75 countries.
