The fourth paper in the series "Increasing Productivity and Quality Management" illustrates an alternative to a typical weakness in precast facilities. Drag chains or sliding contacts are susceptible to dirt and adverse weather conditions. This leads to frequent problems and high maintenance. One solution for this could be systems for inductive, i.e. contactless, transmission of energy. This report will describe how such a system operates and the question of whether contactless energy supply is suitable for the heavy demands and harsh environmental conditions of a precast facility will be discussed.
