The increase of urban population demands more emphasis to be placed for building more with less resources while paying attention to decreasing the imposed environmental hazards. Reinforced concrete is one of the most popular construction materials due to its worldwide availability. In this regard, engineers have the key role of designing structures with optimum dimensions, reinforcement quantities and cement contents while integrating techniques for energy efficiency to structural design. This article provides a general framework for optimized building construction including structural design of reinforced concrete elements, high-speed dual mixing technology for reduced cement contents in the concrete mix and automated semi precast double wall production with factory-installed insulation and point connectors.
