50% reduction in CO2 emissions through utilising slim composite beams

The newly developed Hybridbeam® by Pfeifer makes a good contribution to sustainable construction work by saving on CO2 emissions. A high-performance construction element has been created by bonding higher strength steel with high-strength concrete in a special configuration. Systems made from these slim, floor-flush, wide-spanned composite beams and surrounding construction elements, especially prestressed hollow core slabs, attain greater load-bearing capacity than other comparable floor systems. The space gained and the energy or cement saved by utilising this new type of beam facilitates construction methods that are both economically beneficial and environmentally friendly.
