Marijana Serdar and Antonino Runci, University of Zagreb, Croatia Guang Ye, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands John Provis, University of Sheffield, UK Frank Dehn, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany Thanasis Triantafillou, University of Patras, Greece Guillaume Habert, ETH Zurich, Switzerland Stijn Matthys, Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium A clear demand exists for a new, sustainable generation of building materials, as concrete based on Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) cannot meet all the challenges of modern society in terms of durability and sustainability.
