Rekers GmbH Maschinen- und Anlagenbau is taking over the product portfolio of the "Concrete Technologies" business unit of the Italian company So.co.met. S.p.A. This was agreed between the two family-owned companies as part of an asset deal.
So.co.met. acquired the Concrete Technologies business unit from the Italian company Rossetto S.r.l. in 2008. Over the last ten years the machine technology has been constantly developed and the product range expanded.
On account of the exceedingly positive growth, So.co.met. S.p.A. now wishes to concentrate on its core competence of steel construction. In Rekers GmbH the Italian company has found a buyer that is capable of taking over the Concrete Technologies business unit both technically and organisationally and of developing it at the same time. The Rack Systems business unit for the concrete products industry, on the other hand, will remain with So.co.met.
Through the takeover Rekers has acquired the possibility to extend its own product portfolio in the field of concrete block production by the tilt mould machine segment. The Rekers RK1, RK2, RK3 and RKM tilt mould machines are well suited to the manufacture of concrete products whose properties require them to be turned during demoulding. They enable the production of a wide range of products, such as culverts, barrels, ducts, blocks, gutters, New Jersey barriers, manholes and many other products, both with and without reinforcement. They also allow the production of concrete products with a small conical shape.
The RK1, RK2 and RK3 tilt mould machines are available both in mobile and stationary versions. The Rekers RKM tilt mould machine is an entry-level model that is operated manually via lever controls. It is characterised above all by its low energy consumption.
The tilt mould machines and the associated moulds will be manufactured in future at Rekers' Spelle plant. Service and the supply of spare parts for all existing machines and plants from the So.co.met. and Rossetto brands will also be taken over by Rekers with immediate effect. In order to ensure a smooth transition, the So.co.met. team is actively supporting the German company in all technical questions during the initial period.
