Industrial safety has a long tradition in Germany. The worldwide unique ‘dual system’ of national industrial safety legislation and the autonomous legislation of the accident insurers has achieved a relatively high protection standard. The basis of all industrial safety activities in a company is the determination of the hazards that arise from the works operations, plants and processes and are relevant to the health and safety of the employees.
