Interactions between admixtures and mineralcomponents in Self-Compacting Concrete castat differe

Workability of SCC

For several years, self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a feasible way of concreting in many parts of the world. Due to steady development in the field of improved admixtures and better understanding of the concrete formulations came the reduction of the main problems, namely the high material costs and the difficult handling. Today, the technology could be considered in many aspects as a real alternative to the traditional methods. However, by the use of delicately balanced additions and combined admixtures, SCC has become more complex even for skilled users and sensitive against unexpected events. This limits its resistance against environmental impacts during the production, which in return favours conventional techniques over SCC.
