The installation of a large ready-mixed concrete batching plant at the London Olympic Park site in Stratford proved quite a challenge for London Concrete. For a start, timing was tight, even for a company used to fast-track installation. London Concrete had only a short period to get the entire site up and running, including getting the plant erected and commissioned and into operation by May 2008. The plant also had to meet the high volume requirements of the Olympic Park contractors, and the material it produced had to meet the challenging targets set by the Olympic Delivery Authority for the use of recycled materials.
