The Caribbean island of Aruba, aka “One Happy Island”, is known the world over for its fabulous weather with no hurricanes, its fantastic powder-white beaches and its friendly people. It is the quintessential Caribbean island having an area of about 75 square miles and a coastline of about 43 miles and is located close to the South American coastline. It has a population of about 120,000 people made-up of about 80 different nationalities. Aruba is a self-governing island in the Dutch Antilles and therefore the official language is Dutch, but nearly everyone speaks the “unofficial” language, Papiemento, as well as English and Spanish.
