With the commissioning of a state-of-the art production line for manufacturing concrete blocks at the end of 2012, the Plattard Group has concluded its 13 year investment and modernisation programme at its Villefranche-sur-Saône production facility in France, at least for the time being. Jacques Plattard is the CEO of this group of companies, which comprises 3 precast concrete production facilities, another 3 ready-mix concrete factories, and 35 sales representatives. In 2012, Plattard manufactured about 450,000 tonnes of concrete products for drainage infrastructure, road construction and civil engineering projects, amongst others. In addition, approximately 100.000 m3 ready-mix concrete was produced. Plattard mainly supplies customers in the Rhône-Alpes region with these products. The production of raw materi- als - sand and gravel - at the current scale of 600,000 tonnes per year - is another of the group’s important mainstays. A turnover of about € 150 million was generated in 2012 with its sales of concrete masonry blocks and kerbstones, pipes and manholes along with ready-mix concrete and raw materials. With a total of more than 450 employees, the Plattard Group is considered to be one of the foremost employers in the French concrete processing industry.
