Optical changes in surface-coated concrete products

Damage to concrete products with coated surfaces – part 3

The second part of this series of articles focused on the surveyor's assessment of the sensitivity of surface-coated products to scratching and reported on colour changes of these products that were attributable to the premature action of water on constituents of the coating that had not yet hardened. In the concluding third part of the series of articles, damage is presented in which optical changes have occurred on coated pavements due to bubble formation, damage caused by exposure to UV light and dissolving attacks by cleaning agents.
