Cemex Beton-Bauteile GmbH recently presented a test system that makes the concrete cover of semi-precast elements precisely determinable. The plastic built-in part is pushed onto the reinforcement of semi-precast elements, such as precast slabs with cast-in-situ topping and double wall elements. Following the pouring of the concrete, the checker remains in the structural element and allows the upper and lower concrete cover to be checked at a glance. On the one hand, this benefits the Cemex Beton-Bauteile GmbH concrete works in their quality assurance and, on the other, these characteristic values are of interest on the building site, but could not be determined for the finished element up to now.
