The concrete products industry is undergoing a significant transformation. Sustainability, energy efficiency, and flexible production processes are becoming increasingly important. One company that has consistently embraced this transition for many years is MBI De Steenmeesters. The closure of the traditional Veghel plant – long home to the well-known Big Bertha, once Europe's largest concrete stone press - did not mark the end of an era but rather the beginning of a targeted strategic realignment. Production was shifted to the more modernizable sites in Aalst, Kampen, and Nieuw-Lekkerland, where MBI has been investing continuously in climate-friendly technologies.
