J. Lehde GmbH is a medium-sized, family-run construction company based in Soest, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with its own precast reinforced concrete plant and an integrated architecture and engineering department. The company realises turnkey industrial and commercial buildings and is increasingly focusing on serial construction methods and innovative precast solutions. Sustainability is a central component of the company’s corporate strategy. Against a backdrop of increasing requirements for resource efficiency and CO2 reduction, the use of recycled materials in the construction industry is becoming increasingly significant. The precast concrete industry, in particular, can play a pioneering role in implementing the circular economy through controlled production conditions. The aim of this article is to demonstrate, using a case study, how RC concrete can be consistently integrated into serial production at a medium-sized precast plant – not as a special solution, but as a new standard.
