A significant portion of the Italian industrial building stock, particularly that constructed between the 1960s and 1990s, was designed according to seismic criteria that are now outdated. Regulatory developments, culminating in the Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni 2018, have introduced higher seismic demands and a design philosophy based on ductility and capacity design principles, which are often lacking in existing structures. In this context, seismic retrofit interventions play a strategic role. Among the various available solutions, beam-to-column connections represent one of the most effective points of intervention, as they strongly influence the global structural response. To this end, Edilmatic proposes an innovative device that can be adopted within different design approaches, adapting to specific retrofit requirements.
