Situated on the island of Guam thousands of miles from its namesake company, Rocky Mountain Precast (RMP) has established itself as a leading precast/prestressed and tilt-up company supplying a diverse range of products throughout the 210 square mile U.S. territory. The company traces its roots back to 1989, but its name comes from the entry of Rocky Mountain Prestress to the island in 1993 in a bid to supply product for a Guam airport, according to current co-owner Tim Wenden. The original RMP owners didn’t win the bid, but did earn a contract to build a large K-Mart store, and the Denver-based company was in business on Guam, nearly 7,000 miles from its home base.
