Construction industry needs new solutions to solve the issues related to CO2 emissions. The solutions include the use of smarter structural design and the use of low-carbon materials, which could be facilitated by the use of 3D printing technology. Based on the recent studies and experiments, this technology, particularly in foundation struc-ures, have been proven to be beneficial and at the same time technically feasible. This technology can be seen as a supplement for traditional precast technologies.
