The fundamental purpose of using prefabricated elements in construction is to achieve "Total Building Performance". Recent developments show relevant improvements in all aspects. Countries where the prefabrication industry is well established have significant advance in mate- rials and production. Through many manufacturers, it appears there is scope for a variety of systems in the market. For instance: 3D prefab- ricated buildings including windows, doors and electrical recesses are tailor manufactured with special concrete. Thin-skinned wall panels are part of an 'open' system of components which offer freedom in design and flexibility. Speed, efficiency and value are specific attributes of prefabrication that are illustrated in this work.
