Making the vacuum visible

Unitechnik Systems GmbH, 51674 Wiehl, Deutschland

The thirteenth article in the series "Increasing Productivity and Quality Management" deals with the turning and inserting process during double wall production. The already cured first shell is rotated through 180° by means of a turning device and lowered onto the freshly con- creted second shell. The lattice beams protruding from the first shell ensure the proper spacing and connection between the two shells. In addition to the classical turning device, in which the entire production pallet is rotated along with the concrete elements, increasingly rota- ting suction frames are being used. However, the efficiency benefits of this technology are offset by certain systemic risks. These risks can be minimized with intelligent control and guidance technology. This report describes the basic operation of a rotating suction frame and its integration into Unitechnik’s automation concept.
