Manufacturing each of the more than 40 metre long concrete behemoths weighing about 68 tonnes was anything but an everyday occur- rence. Yet, the greater challenge was of a logistical nature. The eleven trusses, which were to form the roof of a production hall, also had to be transported individually and laboriously to the site. They were manoeuvred at night and at times through narrow towns or route sections with steep gradients and sharp curves. Perfect timing was the decisive factor in routing the heavy transport on its 90 km long journey.
