For Pfeiffer Maschinenfabrik, a well-known company throughout the industry, two prerequisites determined the founding in 1963 of the Langenhahn plant in the northeast of Rhineland-Platinate: the untapped pool of skilled work- ers at that time and the required separation of production from the Pfeiffer mother plant in Ettlingen (Baden-Württemberg), which was specialised in machinery construction.
