15 hours concreting for high-rise buildingfoundation using six truck-mountedconcrete pumps

The 2.50 m thick foundation slab of an office building in downtown Seattle was concreted at the rate of up to 690 m3 concrete per hour. Six Schwing truck-mounted concrete pumps delivered and distributed the 7,800 m3 B35 concrete with low heat generation and 45 cm slump over a period of 15 hours. To make sure the delivery of the concrete for the new 42-storey head office of the Washington Mutual Bank was uninterrupted, the streets around the construction site were cordoned off down to one bus lane. Thus, the six concrete pumps of the Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping Service were filled continuously from 80 truck mixers.
