...industry On 7th July of this year in Epernon close to Paris, France, the research and development centre of the French concrete industry (CERIB - Centre d'Études & de Recherches de l'Industrie du Béton) held a conference for the first time on the theme of research and innovation in construc- tion work. Entitled “Expertise & Construction”, it drew about 350 specialists from the construction industry. The organisers took advantage of the opportunity for displaying both the institute’s internal study and research findings and for presenting its technical and scientific proj- ect partnerships with other organisations at a national and European level. Participants in the conference were able to profit from an exchange of views on common issues of interest as regards innovations and possibilities of development in individual specialised areas of concrete technology.
