This paper deals with the structural engineering aspects of the design for erection of precast concrete in buildings in Australia, involving bracing only. There are many parties involved in the erection of precast concrete including the architect, the project manager, civil and structural engineer, the precaster, the precast erector, crane operators, the erection crews including riggers, the unions, the builders and so the list can go on. Except for the structural engineering design for erection, the role of these other parties are not discussed in any detail in this paper.
